The constitution of Kenya 2010 guarantees fundamental rights and freedom which includes the involvement of women and marginalised groups in governance.Article 27 (8) and 81 secure affirmative actions to reduce gender imbalances in leadership which means not more than two thirds of the members elected in leadership positions should be of the same gender.The implementation of the principle still faces challenges to date.
