Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson has warned contractors in Kilimani and Kileleshwa to repair roads damaged by their construction activities or risk not receiving occupation licenses.

Speaking to one of the local stations, Sakaja stressed that contractors whose heavy trucks have caused road damage must restore the roads before they can operate.

“Contractors in Kilimani and Kileleshwa, where roads have been damaged by construction trucks, must fix the roads before getting occupation licenses,” Sakaja said.

The Governor highlighted Chania Avenue in Kilimani as an example of roads in poor condition, blaming years of substandard repairs.

“Chania Avenue has been in bad shape for years due to poor repairs. This time, we will make it right,” he vowed, assuring residents that the roads will be repaired.

He also reassured Nairobians that there is a wider plan to improve the city’s roads.

“With the support of both the County and National Governments, we will fix every road in Nairobi,” he added.
