President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja have officially opened a newly constructed central kitchen in Kamukunji Constituency, designed to provide meals for over 10,000 students under the Dishi Na County school feeding program.
Speaking at the launch, Ruto emphasized the initiative’s role in improving school performance and enrollment, pledging Ksh 5 million to renovate school infrastructure.
“A well-fed child is likelier to concentrate and perform well in class. Dishi Na County ensures no child in Nairobi goes to school hungry,” he stated.
Governor Sakaja assured parents that their children are now safe in school and that their food is made in a clean space.
Also present were Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Principal Secretary Dr. Richard Belio Kipsang, Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan, members of parliament, county assembly representatives, and senior county officials who attended the event.
