United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Nairobi Gubernatorial hopeful Kenneth Kinara Nyamwamu has stepped down to support Orange Democratic’s Tim Wanyonyi.
Speaking during an event attended by Gusii residents of Nairobi at Tim Wanyonyi’s office Rosedale Gardens on Saturday,9 April 2022, Nyamwamu said he reached the decision following wider consultations with his inner circle. The 4y-year-old businessman also hinted that Wanyonyi’s clean track record prompted him to halt his ambitions. He added that the westlands MP’s manifesto for Nairobi is not different from his.
“He supports Baba I support him too 100%. We hope to work together to weed out all cartels in Nairobi and make it an efficient county.” Said Nyamwamu.
MP Wanyonyi thanked Nyamwamu for his bold decision and promised to work with him. Mr. Wanyonyi also insisted that he remains to be the sole candidate for Nairobi, rubbishing claims that he was on the verge of supporting another candidate in the Azimio la Umoja Oka coalition. He promised to offer solutions to problems facing residents of Nairobi should he be elected come August.
“We shall change everything, improve cost-effectiveness, service delivery and make Nairobians happy. I am determined to transform Nairobi into a smart city that uses a digital platform to deliver services thus reaching every sector of the economy.” Wanyonyi guaranteed.
