The number of Kenyans vaccinated against Covid19 in the country as of Friday, 7 May 2021 stood at 911,515.
Health Cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that a bigger percentage of those vaccinated were people above 58 years.
Announcing the figures at the launch of the renovated HDU and Newborn Unit at KNH Othaya Hospital, Mr. Kagwe also noted that health workers, teachers, and security officers had received the Jab as they are frontline workers.

CS Kagwe similarly announced that 568 new covid19 infections had been recorded in the last 24 hours after testing a sample size of 9,029.
Of the new infections, Nairobi continued to lead with 142 cases compared to I case each that was reported in Bungoma, Vihiga Busia, and Kwale counties.
On a sad note, 15 people had succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours pushing the cumulative fatalities to 2865.
“A total of 1,086 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 6,381 patients are on Home Based Isolation and care,” Kagwe announced.
