Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged to collaborate with Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua, citing her extensive political experience as an asset.

Speaking on Saturday after meeting Karua at her home in Kirinyaga, Gachagua said the partnership aims to unite like-minded leaders and foster progress in the country.

“We have agreed to work together with other Kenyans and patriots who care about this nation. Many Kenyans are looking for leadership, and we will provide that,” Gachagua stated.

Gachagua, accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, expressed optimism about Karua’s contributions to the Mt. Kenya region, emphasizing her courage and leadership. He added that they would consult her regularly to guide their shared mission.

Karua echoed the sentiment, highlighting the importance of collaboration in demanding accountability and uniting the country. “Today marks the beginning of a journey to unite and liberate Kenya. We will join hands with people from different regions and areas,” Karua said.

This marks the first significant political engagement between Gachagua and Karua since his impeachment as Deputy President. The meeting also reflects Karua’s Narc Kenya Party’s efforts to rebrand after leaving the Azimio coalition.

Karua and Gachagua were previously on opposing sides during the 2022 general elections, with Karua serving as Raila Odinga’s running mate and one of Gachagua’s fiercest critics.
