In yet another blow to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, Kenya’s ambassador to China Sarah Serem has quit the prestigious role.
The former salaries and remuneration head is set to join the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race which has also attracted politicians Jonathan Bii and Bundotich Buzeki, Kenya’s envoy to Pakistan Julius Bitok, Ngenyilel MCA David Sing’oei, Nairobi Devolution executive Vesca Kangogo, and Soy MP Caleb Kostany. The seat has also attracted Solomon Kiptarbei who used a bicycle during his campaigns in the last elections where he lost.
Speaking to a local daily in 2021, the no-nonsense lady said her journey has begun and there is no turning back in her resolve to serve the electorates of Uasin Gishu county.
Thank you 🙏 @WuPeng_MFAChina for your kind invitation to bid farewell to @Serem_JC Ambassador of Kenya 🇰🇪 to China 🇨🇳. Kenya 🇰🇪 remains a country we both admire having served there during the same period. It is a country with incredible promise & potential. Travel well Sarah. pic.twitter.com/8qsDfJPQDl

“I want to come and address the issues that the citizens want because I believe that there is something meaningful I can offer,” Serem said.
